Trade & Certificate Programs

What Certifications Can I Earn During High School?

After high school, CTE (Career and Technical Education) certifications can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of years, depending on the field and level of certification you pick. This can also vary based on the program requirements.

Certification programs teach you the exact skills you need for the job, so you won’t be taking general education courses like in a college degree program. With a certification, you can qualify for higher-paying skilled jobs that get you started on your career path. It’s a great way to continue your education without committing to traditional college, setting you up for long-term success in the field you choose.

Did you know it’s possible to earn certification during high school and graduate with both a high school diploma AND a trade certification? Check out the section below to learn about Arizona’s CTED (Career and Technical Education District) opportunities!

What is a CTED?

Career & Technical Education District (CTED) schools offer various programs to help you earn certificates like EMT/Fire, cosmetology, auto mechanics, HVAC, healthcare, digital animation, construction, aviation, and more.

These can be earned while you work on your high school diploma and are typically FREE!
