Do I Need ACT or SAT Test Scores to Apply to a University?

“I heard ACT/SAT scores are no longer required for university admissions, is that true?”

Yes, but there are several reasons you should still take one of those tests if you plan to go straight to university after high school. Even though it’s no longer needed for admissions, taking the ACT or SAT test is still important and can help you in many ways.

First, the ACT and SAT help you get ready for college classes. They cover subjects like math, reading, writing, and science. Studying for these tests makes you better at these subjects and helps you learn good study habits and manage your time well.

Second, getting a high score on the ACT or SAT can make your college application stronger. Colleges look at these scores to see if you are ready for their classes. If you are deficient in a required area and tested high it can help with your admissions eligibility. Plus a high score can help you get scholarships, which are free money for college. Scholarships can help pay for your tuition and other costs.

Finally, ACT and SAT scores can help you skip some basic classes in college. If you do well on these tests, you might be able to start with more advanced classes. This can save you time and money because you can finish your degree faster.

In short, taking the ACT or SAT is very important if you plan to go to college. These tests help you get ready for college, make it easier to get into good schools, and can even help you pay for your education.

SAT & ACT: What is the Difference?

The SAT and ACT have a few key differences. The SAT has two main sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math. It does not have a science section. The SAT takes about 3 hours and focuses more on problem-solving and data analysis.

On the other hand, the ACT has four sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science. The ACT takes around 2 hours and 55 minutes with more straightforward questions and includes a science section (3 hours and 35 minutes if you take the optional Writing section).
